Product Information & Details:

Any of our standard stock sizes of sleeve type bronze bearings are adaptable to grooving & graphiting.  There are various styles of graphiting available, however we have displayed the most popular below.  Graphite is mechanically forced into the groove under extreme pressure.  A film of lubricant is transferred to the shaft as it begins to turn.

The depth and width of the groove depend upon the wall thickness, bearing diameter and other factors that may vary with the individual application.

NOTE: These bearings are free reaming and should be ordered or reamed at assembly.  So, the I.D. is from .001 to .002" greater than would be needed if an ungraphited bearing were being used.
